Sponsor a life changing ROOF coat bag
We are actively seeking business sponsorship to pay forward on the training and employment of local people at risk of or currently experiencing homelessness via the purchase of ROOFCOATBAG units.
Our business is not funded from the public purse or grants.
We are totally reliant on SALES of the flags and banners and ROOF coat bags we make.
We believe in sustainability and collaboration so if this fits with your personal or business ethos and you'd like to get involved and/or sponsor enabling a person to join the mainstream, please get in touch.
£700 pays for two units to be made and distributed in your name and pays towards the training, employment and development of the initiative.
Bringing people back into the community
We are a social enterprise delivering a proven business model which rehabilitates through skills training and employment, manufacturing revenue generating product. We meet these courageous people at charity Access Points and offer them the opportunity to join the ROOF INITIATIVE and change the way they live. The ROOF INITIATIVE brings people off the streets and into work and back to the community.
A proportion of the ROOF COATBAGS we make are also sponsored and funded through generous public donations and these are distributed to the homeless through the same homeless charity collaborators.
We have joined forces with a Llamau, a major player and Homeless Charity in Wales to deliver the ROOF project. Llamau have a practical pastoral system of assisting rough sleepers who would benefit from a ROOF COATBAG in the short term, remembering that the objective of the homeless charities is ultimately to rehabilitate and rehome the service users.
Each sponsored ROOF COATBAG is recycled for use by the next service user as another homeless person is trained and employed and able to support themselves with accommodation.
ROOF is not meant to be an alternative to accommodation, but it is mean't to be a real time interim solution between homelessness and having a home.
We're not here to undermine the need for social housing, we're not here to make life on the street so comfortable that a person wouldn't want to leave it (yes we really have received such comments). We are however here to create an opportunity for people who live on the streets to get back on their feet, have the means to afford to live in rented accommodation, pay their bills and support themselves.
While we wait for change to happen for the homeless through mainstream channels, we will continue on our mission to provide every homeless person with a ROOF and the basic human right of warmth, safety and comfort. ROOF is so much better for mental and physical health and wellbeing than a flimsy tent, cardboard mattress and street vent.
No matter what the official statistics say, homelessness is on the rise.
